AvidXchange, the leading provider of accounts payable (AP) and payment automation solutions for the middle market, announced today efforts to provide relief to families and youth across the U.S. by supporting local food banks and donation drives in cities where its offices are located. With a commitment to making a difference in the lives of youth where AvidXchange teammates work and live, the AvidXchange Foundation is supporting COVID-19 relief efforts through monetary and supply donations to five different nonprofits.
“Today’s circumstances are unique, and many families are experiencing unforeseen hardships and uncertainties.” said Rob Phocas, Director of Corporate Social Responsibility. “At our core, AvidXchange is a people company, which means taking care of our teammates and communities when they need us most.”
To help families whose circumstances are affected by the current environment receive the necessities and meals they need, the AvidXchange Foundation is working with organizations like Highland Park Gives a Hoot (Somerset, N.J.), South Shore Community Action Council (Pembroke, Mass.), Houston Food Bank (Houston, Texas) Second Harvest Food Bank and A Child’s Place (Charlotte, N.C.) to provide support monetarily and through supply donations.
“Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina is truly grateful for AvidXchange’s generous gift to support our mission to end child hunger and feed our neighbors in need,” said Kay Carter, CEO, Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina. “During this very uncertain time, children no longer have access to school lunches, seniors are unable to leave their homes to acquire much needed food, and so many individuals are being affected by business closures and cancellations – it’s through partnerships like this that we can reach those who need us now more than ever.”
“During this unprecedented time when so many vulnerable people in our community are in need and reaching out, we’re extremely grateful to have support from our community partner, AvidXchange,” said Karen Rech, Director of Advancement, A Child’s Place at Thompson Child & Family Focus. “This partnership allows our organization to continue to provide critical resources and support that help alleviate the mounting stressors for a population that is already living in crisis, including poverty and homelessness.”
The AvidXchange Foundation was founded in 2005 in response to helping elementary school children impacted by hurricane Katrina and has since continued to grow and positively influence the youth in the communities in which AvidXchange teammates works and live. Today, the AvidXchange Foundation is active across the U.S. in all seven AvidXchange office locations.
