AvidXchange and Central Piedmont Community College partner to extend professional development and growth opportunities for teammates

October 14, 2019

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Central Piedmont Community College and AvidXchange are partnering to offer specialized training for employees through funding provided by the N.C. Community College System. AvidXchange, the leading provider of accounts payable (AP) and payment automation solutions for the middle market, will receive more than $598,000 in training from Central Piedmont over a three‐year period.

The training programs will include a broad range of leadership building, customer service, project management, interpersonal skills, continuous improvement, financial acumen and computer training. This relationship is part of the larger N.C. Community College System’s Customized Training Program made possible by the N.C. General Assembly, which offers training services and specialized programs to assist new and existing businesses, helping companies like AvidXchange remain productive and profitable within North Carolina.

“While we are a software company by trade, the heart of our business is our people and the ‘work hard, play hard’ mentality that has shaped our culture into what it is today,” said Todd Cunningham, SVP of Human Resources and Talent at AvidXchange. “We are excited to provide our teammates access to new training resources in a variety of areas to further develop their careers and fine tune skills that set them up for success.”

“Central Piedmont is excited to work with AvidXchange as the company expands its employee training and development resources,” said Kelly Trainor, Central Piedmont associate vice president of academic affairs. “The college will work hard to deliver the customized training AvidXchange team members will benefit from now and in the future as the company grows.”

In addition to on‐site training at AvidXchange, depending upon the course and topic, trainings will be held at the Central Piedmont Harris or Levine campuses. Central Piedmont’s span of learning, expertise, and experience make the college a uniquely positioned workforce development resource to help meet the performance and organizational needs of local companies.

This partnership is one of many initiatives to drive talent development and community engagement at AvidXchange as the company continues to grow, including relationships with local organizations like Road to Hire and E2D, which promote upward and economic mobility by removing barriers for individuals to access learning and career opportunities. AvidXchange is committed to cultivating success from within starting with its number one resource – teammates – while also giving back to the communities where those teammate work and live.
