crowd at Charlotte Moo and Brew festival

We Moo’d, We Brewed, We Had a Blast at the Moo & Brew Festival!

Creative Loafing’s 2nd Annual Moo & Brew Craft Beer and Burger Festival took place at the AvidXchange Music Factory on Saturday, April 16. We had an absolute blast meeting Queen City’s most avid beer and burger aficionados while enjoying some live music and the amazing weather. Thanks to everyone who stopped by our tent to say hello and play a quick game of cornhole or take a pic at our photo booth. And thanks to all the volunteers and AvidXers for making sure everyone was having a great (and safe) time!

 And the Winner Is…

For the second year in a row, Bang Bang Burgers took home the coveted “Creative Loafing’s Best Burger” award for their tasty pimento cheeseburger. Located on E. 7th Street, Bang Bang Burgers features burgers made from Black Angus short rib and chuck cuts of beef on locally baked, hand-shaped bread that is delivered daily. For more on Bang Bang Burgers, check out this interview we did with owner and head chef Joseph Huang.

While Bang Bang’s back-to-back wins are impressive, the big winner out of this year’s Moo & Brew Festival is the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina. Approximately 2,500 people attended this year’s festival, which means we helped raise $7,000 for Second Harvest. That’s $15,000 in two years!
