The capital of Texas is known for its legendary music venues, foodie hotspots, and year-round outdoor fun. Everything’s bigger in Texas, including AvidXchange’s annual users conference! In celebration of our upcoming users’ conference, REVOLUTION 2016, we’re looking at some of the other events happening in Austin this year so our partners and customers can make a trip out of their visit!
Pecan Street Spring Arts Festival (May 7-8)
If you’re in Austin the weekend before REVOLUTION 2016, check out the Pecan Street Festival. This free event is the largest art festival in Central Texas! Musicians, food vendors, and artists converge on historic Pecan Street (now Sixth Street) and turn the area between Brazos and IH35 into a street fair.
Motown Monday at The Highball (May 9)
Looking for a good time the night before our users’ conference kicks into high gear? There’s always something awesome happening at The Highball, Austin’s premiere karaoke bar. Have a drink and check out Motown Monday with Matchmaker Band, Austin’s ten-piece show band that celebrates the sounds of Motown, soul, and funk. The show starts at 9 p.m., but if you come an hour early you can get West Coast Swing lessons from Go Dance!
Terror Tuesday at the Alamo Drafthouse (May 10)
After a day of intense AP automation education, you could use a break. How about a movie at one of the world’s greatest movie theaters, The Alamo Drafthouse? The Drafthouse is dinner, drinks, movies and events, all under one roof. On Tuesday, May 10, The Alamo Ritz on E. 6th Street is showing George Romero’s CREEPSHOW as part of their Terror Tuesday programming!
Paul Simon in Concert (May 10-11)
For two nights only, the legendary Paul Simon will be in Austin to support his upcoming album, Stranger to Stranger. You can see his show as the Bass Concert Hall, located on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin.
