At AvidXchange, we believe in giving back to the communities that we call home. In coordination with AvidFoundation, our outreach program, we’re organizing a couple of upcoming events to raise money for some worthy causes. Keep reading for information on these events and how you can participate!
Truckin’ Tuesdays
Every Tuesday in July, AvidXchange is hosting “Truckin’ Tuesdays” for its employees at the AvidXchange Music Factory. From 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., we’ll have a variety of food trucks serving lunch as part of a fundraising event to give back to the community. We’re raising money to send a local high school student to college with our inaugural AvidXchange Scholarship Fund. We’re also collecting funds to help Philly’s Italian Ice & Mobile Eatery, a local food truck that was recently vandalized.
The AvidXchange Music Factory 5K Rock ‘N Run
The AvidXchange Music Factory 5K Rock ‘N Run was founded from within a fragile community called Lockwood (comprised of Plymouth Avenue, Sylvania Avenue, and Keswick Avenue). In the late 90’s, the Lockwood community was on the edge of gentrification, overwhelmed by drugs and illegal activity. The hope and determination of a few community members fueled their ability to believe in the model that “we could change, we could make a difference”.
The goal of the 5K Rock ‘N Run/Walk event is to promote community health awareness, develop awareness with area businesses, connect Charlotte-Mecklenburg to the “New North End,” and create a social and economic impact in the North End corridor. Proceeds go to Community Builders!
This year, the event takes place on Saturday, August 13 at the AvidXchange Music factory, located at 1000 North Carolina Music Factory Blvd. Below is the agenda for the event:
- 6:45 a.m. Youth Registration
- 7:30 a.m. Pre-Race Stretch
- 8:00 a.m. 5K Run/Walk
- 9:15 a.m. Kids Fun Run Start
- 9:30 a.m. 5K Awards Presentation
