By now you’ve heard all about our 200,000 sq ft, six-story corporate headquarters under construction in Charlotte, but did you know we have several regional offices as well? You don’t have to live in the Queen City to take advantage of the amazing culture AvidXchange™ provides. We’re also located in Somerset, New Jersey, Houston, Texas, and Salt Lake City, Utah.
In today’s blog, we’ll take a look at what it’s like to work for AvidXchange in Somerset and get to know Katerina Milevski, Lead Account Administrator.
Tell me a little about yourself, Katerina…
“I worked in Early Education for six years. I went to Montclair State University for Education, specializing in Fine Arts K-12. During college, I was a part-time preschool teacher and then moved into a full-time teaching role after I finished school. I made the choice to stay in Early Education because I loved teaching small children. I continued to work at the preschool and became the Pre-K lead teacher before transitioning to Assistant Director.”
How long have you been with AvidXchange? What exactly do you do here?
“I’m celebrating three years with AvidXchange this month. I work in the Operations Department as the Team Lead Account Administrator. As an Account Administrator, I review our clients’ utility bills and analyze their accounts. My team works with vendors and clients to investigate exceptions like beginning balances, credits, and late fees. Clients use our data to create reports that will allow them to look at usage and dollars to help them with accounting and procurement. By reviewing these exceptions carefully and investigating them when needed, we practice data integrity and pride ourselves on making sure our clients are receiving accurate information.”
Are you involved with AvidFoundation? Can you tell me a little about that?
“I am one of the AvidFoundation leaders in the New Jersey office. As you know, the AvidFoundation is dedicated to bettering the lives of children in the communities in which we live and work. We focus on building a strong network within the community with programs such as Middle Earth, United Way, the Salvation Army, and the Somerset Home. AvidFoundation NJ has helped sponsor and volunteer at the St, Peters Hospital, where we set up a small carnival for children who are battling illnesses. Some of the other volunteer activities we have also participated in were bowling buddies, the Harvest of Hope 5K, and Feed the Need. The AvidFoundation leaders at all of our locations and the volunteers are amazing people with such big hearts.”
What do you enjoy most about working at AvidXchange?
“What I enjoy most about working for AvidXchange is the people and the flexibility. We have so many positive team members who come from different backgrounds, but we all have the same common goal of winning as a team. The culture in the NJ office is addictive and makes the days go by quick. Many of us became friends outside of the office and do happy hour, sporting events, and even Spartan Races together. The flexibility gives me a chance to maintain a good balance of work and homelife. Over Memorial Day weekend, I hiked parts of the Grand Canyon, Zion National Park, and Bryce Canyon! It’s cool to have flexibility and vacation time, whether you want to spend time with your family or travel the world.”
What’s the vibe like in Somerset?
“Somerset is a really busy area. Downtown New Brunswick, home of Rutgers University, is a 10-minute drive from our office. Coworkers often venture off downtown to take in a Rutgers football game or have dinner at a variety of downtown restaurants. Somerset is also home to the Minor League Baseball team the Somerset Patriots, so you can enjoy a game and a couple of beers for $20 after work too! You also have the mountains for hiking and skiing, the Jersey Shore beaches, and of course, New York City. In my opinion, you can’t beat that!”
