Serving more than 5,500 clients throughout North America, AvidXchange™ is an industry leader in automating invoice and payment processes for middle market companies. In today’s blog, we’ll get to know Nicholas Moussab, Director of Corporate Sales at AvidXchange.
So Nicholas, tell me a little about yourself!
I currently live with my beautiful wife, Lauren, in North Caldwell, New Jersey, right outside of Manhattan. I graduated with honors from Northeastern University with a concentration in business and have been with AvidXchange for five years now, working in the AP and Payment Automation space for over eight. In my free time, I enjoy playing golf and putting in work at the CrossFit gym.
What do you do here at AvidXchange?
I am Director of Corporate Sales, which means I’m the sales leader of our large market team. We work with the largest organizations in the country and help them become more efficient, scale for growth, and add revenue to the bottom line.
What do you think is AvidXchange’s greatest competitive advantage?
Our greatest competitive advantage is our people. We have created an incredible culture at AvidXchange, and that is something our CEO Mike Praeger continues to stress as we grow. Our people are what make us great, from Sales to Support, Payment Services, and Implementation, we’re all working together toward a common a goal – helping our clients. Marketing throws some incredible events and parties that allow us to show off the great company AvidXchange truly is. Another indispensable part of AvidXchange? My business partner Chris Elmore. He is an author and has an incredible understanding of the market. His team consists of some brilliant minds: Charlotte Jenkins, Rhonda Greene, Shannon Lawson – I could fill this whole interview with names of the great people we have here.
What has been your biggest accomplishment in your career at AvidXchange?
I’m proud to say that I have been the top performer at AvidXchange every year since I started. My biggest accomplishment is that I have been able to add value to AvidXchange in all facets of the business and remain the top performer year after year.
What advice do you have for people that are just starting their careers in sales?
Stay hungry, stay humble. It’s a team effort. Treat your team and coworkers like the rock stars they are. If you think your success is only because of you, you will not succeed in the long run. Win as a team, party as a team!
What is the most surprising thing about the payables space you’ve encountered during your career?
In 2016, companies are still processing paper invoices and checks! Most people do not pay their personal bills with a check, but many companies are still paper-based. With all the fraud that paper can create, an automation solution is a must.
